On June 26, the US FDA issued a guide to the use of nanomaterials in cosmetics, which provides guidance to companies and other relevant departments (academic and other regulatory authorities) on the safety evaluation of nanomaterials in cosmetics. And other relevant departments identify the potential safety of nanomaterials in cosmetics and develop requirements to assess these potential safety. However, this guide does not apply to other products regulated by the FDA, including over-the-counter drugs, prescription drugs, and medical devices. The FDA's guidance document, including this guidance, does not have legally binding responsibilities. The guide describes the current FDA's current thinking on a topic and should be used only as a recommendation unless there is a clear legal or regulatory requirement. Source: Internet
